KARMA TO BURN Streaming New Track “57”

Instrumetal heavy-rockers Karma To Burn will be releasing their new album Arch Stanton in August and the band has unveiled the new track “57” for your enjoyment. If you’ve enjoyed the band in the past then there is absolutely no reason why you won’t love this track. “57” contains everything that made me fall in love with Karma To Burn a long time ago. TEMPEL Stream Crushing New Track “Avarita”

Instrumetalists Tempel have just hopped onto my radar over the last few days and they have taken up a big chunk of my listening today alone. This band signed to Prosthetic Records not too long ago and, seeing as they were instrumentalist and on Prosthetic Records, I assumed they would be more proggy (a la fellow instrumental Prosthetic artists Animals As Leaders and Scale The Summit) but this isn’t the case at all. This band produces some of the most mesmerizing doom and gloom instrumental tunes I’ve heard in a long while (if ever).

The band has released a few tracks off of their forthcoming debut release On The Steps Of The Temple and now you can check out a new one called “Avarita” after the jump. This is one of my favorite tracks on this record and I highly suggest getting into this shit. Enjoy.     

MONO Announce North American Tour

Japanese post-rock masters Mono have just announced another stint in North America for next spring after their recent east coast run a couple months ago. Supposedly they’re coming to the States in April to record their follow-up to 2012’s For My Parents and following that with a tour going through the South, making a stop at Austin Psych Fest, and creeping up the west coast, ending in Vancouver. Luckily two of those dates are in my area, so I might have to hit up one of those shows. Full itinerary of tour dates after the jump.

Review: SISTERS OF… – “Follow Me As A Ghost”

When music really affects you on an emotional level, you tend to hold on to that music. You keep it with you wherever you may go and, after listening to it, you are left with an element of surprise despite the constant listens you may have given this single piece of music. When this happens, when I fall head-over-heels for music, it is usually after several listens to the piece and not an instantaneous effect.     

Filled With Tocsins: YEAR OF NO LIGHT Streaming New Tracks

France is a wonderful place when it comes to extreme music. I have gotten into a ton of bands from the country over the years and right after starting this site and making friends with Fuck The Facts‘ Topon Das, he introduced me to Year Of No Light. This band is atmospheric, haunting instrumental post-rock hailing from the land of baguettes and they are preparing to release their new album Tocsin.

The band is currently streaming two new tracks off of the album: the albums title track “Tocsin” and “Stella Rectrix.” Both of these tracks are amazing and they definitely deserve your time. Check them out after the jump and tell me if I was wrong.

RUSSIAN CIRCLES Detail New Album “Memorial”

Russian Circles have released the full details on their forthcoming fifth full length record, Memorial, which is due out on October 29th via Sargent House. The album will sport eight new tracks, which is the longest Russian Circles track listing to date, and will feature special guest vocals from Chelsea Wolfe on the album’s closing title track. RUSSIAN CIRCLES Premiere New Track “Deficit”

The Chicago instrumental rock outfit Russian Circles have announced that they will release their fifth full length record, Memorial, on October 29th via Sargent House. Pitchfork have premiered the first single from the upcoming outing, the delightfully grim “Deficit”. The track is a sprawling beast laced with the occasional strings and full of melancholic passages and pummeling chugging riffs. It’s awesome to say the least. Go check it out now!

EVAN BREWER Debuts New Song/Announces Tour Dates

Bassist Evan Brewer has officially announced the release date of his sophomore solo album, Your Itinerary, as July 16th. The Sumerian Records-due Your Itinerary will boast the full-band addition of guitars, drums, piano and electronics from collaborators and peers such as Navene Koperweis (Animals As Leaders, Reflux), pianist Jeremiah Abel, and drummer Kyle Reese in contrast to the sole electric bass grooves of Alone. In turn, Evan has announced plans for a Summer tour alongside progressive metal act, Last Chance To Reason, in which he will be supported by drummer Alex Rudinger of The Faceless and Brandon Giffin of Cynic.
